MCR acquires three hotels in Florida.........The Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt properties are in the Sunshine State’s fastest-growing markets

MCR — the 3rd-largest hotel owner-operator in the U.S. has acquired three hotels in Florida. Totalling 384 rooms, the portfolio includes a Hampton Inn by Hilton, a Courtyard by Marriott and a Hyatt Place in Orlando and Daytona Beach — both among Florida’s fastest-growing markets. With this portfolio acquisition, MCR now has 13 hotels in Florida.

How magical! The 169-room Hyatt Place Orlando/Lake Buena Vista is located a few miles from Walt Disney World Resort and in walking distance of the world-class shopping, dining and entertainment offered in the Disney Springs district. It’s also a short drive from iconic destinations like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Universal Studios.

Race to the beach! Located just off State Road A1A and directly on the water, the 111-room Hampton Inn Daytona Shores features a sunny pool deck and direct access to the beach. It’s also conveniently located near numerous dining and golfing options. The Ocean Center convention arena and Daytona Beach Golf Club are both five miles away and the famous Daytona International Speedway is less than 20 minutes from the hotel!

Go, Hatters, go! The newly built, 104-room Courtyard Marriott DeLand Historic Downtown is the only hotel located downtown next to Stetson University, a private university with more than 4,000 students. The hotel is also within walking distance of top local attractions including SkyDive DeLand, Downtown DeLand and the Athens Theatre, as well as plenty of local shops and restaurants.

MCR — the 4th-largest hotel owner-operator in the U.S. — has acquired the Hilton Miami Airport Blue Lagoon

MCR — the 4th-largest hotel owner-operator in the U.S. — has acquired the Hilton Miami Airport Blue Lagoon, a 14-story hotel with 508 rooms in Miami, Florida. With a prime waterfront setting within the Blue Lagoon business park, the hotel is located just south of Miami International Airport (MIA). This is the company’s second hotel in the Miami airport submarket following the acquisition of the Hyatt Place Miami Airport East in December of 2022 and its tenth hotel in Florida.

MIA is the busiest airport for international passengers and international freight in the U.S. and provides a hub for over 90 air carriers. International traffic continues to ramp back up following the pandemic and overall passenger volume through MIA was up over 10% in 2022 compared to 2019 based on the latest data available. And with a $5 billion capital improvement and expansion plan underway, it’s only going to get busier.

Tourism remains the top industry in “the 305,” but it is also home to the largest concentration of international banks in the U.S., as well as many major Fortune 500 companies. With its prime location near the airport, the Blue Lagoon business park has over four million square feet of office space and serves as the headquarters for nationally recognized names including Burger King and Lennar, as well serving as the Latin American headquarters for Sony, Airbus, Novartis, Hasbro, Estée Lauder and Olympus.

MCR Acquires the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Downtown Tallahassee

The 4th-largest hotel owner-operator in the U.S. MCR,  purchases the real estate-owned DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel from a special servicer in Florida’s vibrant state capital.

MCR has acquired the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Tallahassee, a 17-story, 242-room hotel in Florida’s state capital. The hotel was purchased as a real estate-owned asset from a special servicer and is the company’s seventh hotel in The Sunshine State.

Selected as Florida’s state capital due to its ideal location between Pensacola to the west and Jacksonville to the east, Tallahassee — lovingly known as “Tally” to locals — is a hub for politics, sports and education. In the heart of downtown just two blocks from the State Capitol, the DoubleTree Tallahassee is within five blocks of 30 state agency headquarters, including the Florida Supreme Court and Governor’s Mansion. It’s also less than five minutes from Florida State University and Florida A&M University.

The closest hotel to the State Capitol, the DoubleTree is the perfect gathering place for visitors from both sides of the aisle. If you’re coming to town for the legislative session, take advantage of our complimentary, fast Wi-Fi and expansive guestrooms. Each room is equipped with ample outlets, ergonomic chairs and sleek desks with city views. Prefer to collaborate with colleagues? Book a boardroom (we have eight!).

Tallahassee isn’t just the capital of Florida government, it’s also the capital of Florida football! Bleed garnet and gold with 45,000 Florida State University students at Doak S. Campbell Stadium, where coach Mike Norvell will make his famed game-time calls at seven home matches this season. Be sure to snag a junior suite (big enough for the whole family) for the annual Fresh from Florida Sunshine Showdown on November 25th, when the Seminoles host the University of Florida Gators. Each suite is decked out with a wet bar, mini-refrigerator and a spacious bathroom.

Not a Seminoles fan? Join the 9,600 Florida A&M University attendees to root for the green and orange at nearby Bragg Memorial Stadium.

After a day of cheering, unwind with unrivalled views from the tallest hotel in the city. Cool off with a beer from our on-site restaurant and bar, Jacob’s on the Plaza, then head to the pool deck for a dip. With an average of 237 days of rays per year, it’s no wonder Florida is known as The Sunshine State.

The Hilton Garden Inn is MCR’s second hotel in Minneapolis. MCR also purchased the 60-room Chambers Hotel downtown at a price that was nearly 50% below the prior owner’s cost basis.

USA's 4th-largest hotel owner-operator acquires The Chambers Hotel in downtown Minneapolis and opens its doors to guests.

-It’s quite a showstopper! MCR has acquired the 60-room The Chambers Hotel on 9th Street and Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis’s historic theatre district.

MCR rebranded the hotel, formerly a Le Meridien, as an independent property, complete with a new logo and website. The logo, which has a simple, modern C, is a nod to the hotel’s name and the building’s shape. Throughout the hotel, design features incorporate double Cs in celebration of its home in the Twin Cities!

Built-in 1908, The Chambers Hotel is now open after being closed for nearly a year. And not a moment too soon! Just around the corner, the Target Center, one of the world’s top arenas visited by 1 million people per year, is hosting the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx games and WWE Presents Friday Night Smackdown on July 30. A five-minute walk away, MLB’s Minnesota Twins are playing ball at Target Field. Watch them take on the Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers in early July!

The legendary Orpheum Theatre directly across the street — which has hosted groundbreaking performances from the Marx Brothers’ vaudeville act to The Lion King’s debut — is preparing for one of its biggest seasons yet. Disney’s Frozen breaks the ice with performances starting October 7. Oklahoma! brings a beautiful mornin’ in November (yes, everything’s goin’ our way!).

MCR Purchases the Hilton Garden Inn Louisville Mall of St. Matthews in Derby City

MCR Purchases the Hilton Garden Inn Louisville Mall of St. Matthews in Derby City

MCR takes the lead! The country’s 4th-largest hotel owner-operator has acquired the 150-room Hilton Garden Inn Louisville Mall of St. Matthews in the heart of Kentucky.

The hotel is 10 minutes from Louisville International Airport and 15 minutes to downtown Louisville. But the real attraction is just a short drive away at the legendary Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, the first race in the coveted thoroughbred Triple Crown.

While the world waits with unbridled enthusiasm to find out whether this year’s winning colt, Medina Spirit, will keep his title, there’s plenty of action in town for hot-to-trot fans. Summer racing continues through Fourth of July weekend and a special Bourbon Heritage Month meet is scheduled in September. Fall racing runs from October until Thanksgiving weekend.

When it comes to Louisville lodging, back the right horse! The newly built Hilton Garden Inn features sleek furnishings, an indoor pool and a spacious lobby. Breakfast and a seasonal menu of favourites (flatbreads! burgers!) are cooked to order at the Garden Grille & Bar.

MCR Purchases the Hilton Garden Inn Beaufort

Fightertown, here we come! The nation’s 4th-largest hotel owner-operator acquires the Hilton Garden Inn Beaufort in the heart of the South Carolina coast.

The latest member of the squadron! MCR — the country’s 4th-largest hotel owner-operator — has acquired the 115-room Hilton Garden Inn Beaufort in South Carolina’s beautiful Lowcountry region.

The hotel is just a 40-minute drive to Hilton Head Island and less than an hour from the Spanish moss splendour of Savannah, Georgia. But the real action is minutes away at the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station, one of the only places in the world where pilots train to operate F-35B Lightning II jets, which can reach speeds of Mach 1.6 (that’s about 1,200 miles per hour in civilian language). Grab your aviators and practice your call signs because Tom Cruise has nothing on the daring flyers of Fightertown East.

On neighbouring Parris Island, you’ll find the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, the primary training centre for generations of Marines since 1915. The base welcomes more than 17,000 recruits annually. In town to celebrate a new graduate? Bunk at the Hilton Garden Inn Beaufort and say “Semper Fi” with a hand-crafted cocktail at the fully stocked bar.

California Dreamin’...................MCR Acquires the Staybridge Suites Cathedral City Palm Springs

Going once, going twice, sold! MCR — the country’s 4th-largest hotel owner-operator — won the foreclosure auction for the 197-room Staybridge Suites Cathedral City Palm Springs, an IHG Hotel, on the Corona City Hall steps on April 7, 2021, at 9:30 AM. In the heart of the Coachella Valley, the all-suite hotel is just 10 minutes from Palm Springs Airport, 15 minutes from downtown Palm Springs and a two-hour drive to star-studded Los Angeles. If you’re searching for desert feels this summer, look no further! Next year, festival vibes will be in the air as Coachella and Stagecoach get rolling again.

Newly redesigned, the Palm Springs downtown plaza is renowned for its locally-owned restaurants, one-of-a-kind boutiques, art galleries and antique shops. A popular home to movie stars and Presidents (Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan both settled in the city) since the 1930s, the area is full of old Hollywood glamour. Stroll along Palm Canyon Drive and Museum Way to glimpse the Walk of the Stars, which honours more than 440 famous residents, including Elvis Presley, Lena Horne and Marilyn Monroe.

Take advantage of sunshiny SoCal’s annual 300-plus days of rays: Hike nearby Tahquitz Canyon or drive through the valley to Joshua Tree National Park, which is visited by more than 3 million travellers each year.
