Viva Wyndham Resorts has announced the reopening of the all-inclusive, family-friendly Dominicus Beach property in La Romana, Dominican Republic. In addition to implementing new health and safety protocols, the property now boasts a complete transformation - newly renovated guest rooms, lobby and nature-inspired areas, swimming pools, restaurants and bars - after temporarily closing due to the pandemic.
Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach opened in 1987 and is the first property of the brand’s all-inclusive Caribbean resorts. Its updated reemergence marks a new era for the property and for vacationers looking for an escape replete with resort amenities, onsite dining and entertainment.
Viva Wyndham Resorts has further enhanced its already high standards for hygiene and health, powered by its longstanding partnership with Cristal International Services – a global leader in quality management solutions for hoteliers – by adopting additional guidelines set out by the World Health Organization and other health authorities.
“Viva Wyndham Resorts used the closure as an opportunity to build upon our priority of safety, health and cleanliness to champion the latest local and global health guidelines by implementing new practices, services and adapted amenities across all our all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean,” said Ettore Colussi, the founder and president of Viva Wyndham Resorts. “Reopening our doors at our first-ever property, Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach, symbolizes a new beginning, as we reveal a fresh, new experience that is ready to allow guests to escape and recharge in a pristine oasis.”
Guests enter the resort in an enhanced, modernized lobby and renovations have been made throughout standard and superior guest rooms with colonial and modern inspired decor, and views of tropical gardens and ocean. The resort now features four swimming pools, including a new saltwater infinity pool overlooking the beach and Caribbean Sea, as well as two pools with dedicated children’s areas.
Colussi added, “The view from the infinity pool is spectacular and complements the plentiful open-air, tropical spaces within the resort while offering guests full restaurant and bar service to completely relax and enjoy their vacation experience.”
Onsite dining has also been expanded and updated with the latest technology to serve up local delicacies and craft foods. The new Tiki Bar, located between the infinity pool and beach, offers swing seating from a bamboo and thatched-roofed nook where guests can relax while enjoying select snacks and choice beverages. The new Latin Fusion restaurant offers a-la-carte cuisine, comfortable seating within an open-air ambience complete with a backlit-thatched roof and modern lighting. Additionally, the La Terraza buffet restaurant, Viva Mexico and La Pizzeria have all-new decor. The walkways surrounding the resort are plump with natural, lush greenery and lined with coral stone.
